Mindfulness for the Holidays

A Holiday Mindfulness Message from Sandy, RSW, and Kelly, OT:

Mindfulness is paying attention deliberately and non-judgmentally to each moment of your life.

And you might ask “what is the big deal?”

Well, mindfulness is a BIG deal because by developing this habit, your entire life will change - in an AWESOME way!

You may develop a new way of managing your mind, how you choose to live your life, or how you show up in the world. By developing mindfulness skills you can begin to understand it, integrate it, and practice it.

Long term studies show how practicing mindfulness can help decrease anxiety, depression and burnout. It can also shift your perspective and support the enjoyment of work, your relationships at home and at work.

To kick off this holiday season, we have prepared a mindful resource platform. We are excited to invite you to participate in our 12 Days of Mindfulness. Consider this our gift to YOU!  It is an opportunity for reflective reminders to help you find more balance and to learn strategies to support you to show up as the BEST version of yourself this coming holiday season. You can find this information below and follow us on Facebook for daily posts.

Who wouldn’t want to bring more presence to their presents!?

WAIT: We are not done!!!!
We are also planning on bringing back our very own IN-PERSON mindfulness sessions. That means you can join us for a 3-session workshop series for FREE on April 4,11, and 18, 2023, at 1-3pm. We are thrilled to sit in a safe space and to offer mindfulness practices LIVE. Call 905-704-3660 and ask to be placed on the waiting list. In the New Year we will contact you to do the intake for the program.

On the Fourth Day of Holidays, Mindfulness gives to me: Patience for all involved!

The Sanskrit words 'Lokah Samastah Sukinho Bhayantu' comprise one of the most popular chants used in modern yoga classes. Translated into English, the words mean "May all beings everywhere be happy and free", a sentiment we can certainly all get behind. Listen to the song "Diamonds in the Sun" for a peaceful song featuring those words.

On the Fifth Day of Holidays, Mindfulness gives to me: Beginner's mind to be flexible!

On the Sixth Day of Holidays, Mindfulness gives to me: An awareness of feeling my feelings!
