Mindfulness

The practice of Mindfulness helps reduce stress by breaking some of the unconscious habits of thinking and behaving that stop you from living life to the fullest.  

Join us on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Free of charge and no registration necessary.

Held at the Community Wellness Complex, no membership required.

Caring for the Caregiver Series

Are you caring for a loved one? Are you exhausted by your caregiving role and have no time for yourself? Do you want to make the most of the time spent with the person you are caring for? Don't set aside your own needs. It is important to take time to care for yourself. 

 This series helps to prevent burnout, strengthen caregivers' competence, and improve their knowledge and skills. The last program will be a hands-on caregiving skills session including tips and strategies from an Occupational Therapist.

"What Can I Do?": Supporting Families Affected by Mental Health

Issues of mental health affect many people, in many ways. When a loved one is suffering from a mental health issue, it can be especially challenging for family and close friends to watch that suffering and not know what to do. Getting Back to Nature: The Benefits of Forest Therapy

Research has shown that spending time in nature has incredible health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress levels, and even boosting the immune system. Forest therapy uses the properties of mindful awareness and a connection to nature that promotes wellness and helps us slow down.
