Stop the Insomnia!

LUNCH & LEARN

Can't sleep? Come and explore the basics of insomnia and sleep hygiene along with prevention and treatment strategies.

This is a solution-focused workshop using cognitive behavioural therapy techniques.

Chair Yoga & Gentle Yoga

Chair Yoga

Do you suffer from chronic pain or limited mobility? Chair-based Yoga practice emphasizes mindful awareness of body sensations while one engages in gentle postures and stretches that are linked with the breath.  A chair and other props will be used.  This is for individuals with limited range of movement.

Gentle Yoga

Do you suffer from low back pain? These yoga sessions will focus on mindful awareness of body sensations, posture and breathing techniques, as well as targeted stretches and strengthening poses to help manage and improve your lower back pain. Chairs and other props will be used. This is for individuals with chronic low back pain.

Diabetes Prevention Workshop (Pre-DM)

Has your doctor told you that you are in danger of developing Type II Diabetes? Do you want to learn tips about how to safely manage your blood sugar levels through simple lifestyle changes?

Mindfulness

The practice of Mindfulness helps reduce stress by breaking some of the unconscious habits of thinking and behaving that stop you from living life to the fullest.  

Join us on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Free of charge and no registration necessary.

Held at the Community Wellness Complex, no membership required.

Urban Pole Walking

Come and join us for a new way to walk! Learn a new skill, experience many health benefits, and burn 20-45% more calories than regular walking, improves balance and builds endurance. Stay active during the cold weather.

Poles are provided.  

Tuesdays start times @ 8:00am and @ 9:00am.

Pole Walking is currently being held indoors at the Seaway Mall, 800 Niagara Street, Welland ON.

 Pole Walking will move outside in the spring at a date to be determined.

Learn to manage symptoms of anxiety and panic through a cognitive behavioural approach. This is a 10-week closed group.

Craving Change

Do you struggle with emotional eating? Join our Registered Dietitian and Mental Health Nurse for a 6-week group which uses a Cognitive Behavioural approach to emotional eating that focuses on why we eat.
